Founder's Profile

In 1967, Markus Sajogo began his legal career as a lawyer under the mentorship of Buddi Tedjamulia, S.H. and Prof. MR. J. Hardjawidjaja (Oey Pek Hong). His practice was carried out in his office on Jl. Untung Suropati 64, Surabaya; an address which he preserves up to the present day. During the early years of his career, Markus Sajogo worked on various areas of law, ranging from civil, criminal, real estate, family law, to legal settlements by mediation. As time went by, by the grace of God and public acknowledgements, he later began practising law in many jurisdictions in Indonesia as an Advocate.

After succinctly gaining popularity among those who seek justice, he welcomed fellow professional associates in his law firm, which is known as MARKUS SAJOGO & ASSOCIATES. Together with his associates, he improved his experience and knowledge and started building professional relations with government institutions and various social organizations, both national and international.

After more than 40 years in law practices, in 2009, Markus Sajogo & Associates established the Sajogo Law Building. A law firm consisted of legal professionals not only specialized in the legal field but also committed to assist their clients further by working alongside supporting professionals whose service base is closely related to the legal world, to complement and support legal services such as notarial services, tax consultants, accounting consultants, psychology consultants, and marriage counselors.

In the professional organization category, Markus Sajogo was one of the early members of APAA (Asian Patent Attorneys Association) Japan (Indonesia Group). In 2000, he was authorized by The Department of Law of the Republic of Indonesia, Directorate General of General Law Administration to become a receiver and administrator for insolvency and became a member of AKPI (Indonesian Receiver and Administrator Association). Markus Sajogo is also listed as the Honorary Council Member of AAI (Indonesian Bar Association) and is a member of PERADI (Indonesian Advocates Association).

Being one of the most esteem and recognized intellectual property rights advocate in Indonesia and members of many IPR international organizations, in 2011, Markus Sajogo and E.L. Sajogo established Sajogo Marks as a division of the firm to cater the growing need of bussiness doers specially relating to Intellectual Property Right issues in Indonesia or other countries.
