INDONESIA ANTI-SCAM CENTER: ERADICATING FINANCIAL SECTOR CRIMES IN THE DIGITAL ERA

Monday, January 26 2026 | FINANCE

Crimes in the financial sector during this increasingly sophisticated digital era require more prominent mitigation and eradication tools. Various examples of crimes in the digital-based financial sector include phishing, account takeover, SIM swap fraud, card skimming, fake investments, and fake online loans. The more dynamic the digital era becomes, the more sophisticated these types of crimes evolve.

To combat the rise of digital fraud, the Financial Services Authority (OJK) established the Indonesia Anti Scam Center (IASC) as a faster, more efficient, and targeted fraud reporting center. Reports can be submitted online through the official IASC website at https://iasc.ojk.go.id/.

When submitting a fraud report via IASC, it is important for the reporter to prepare personal identification, information about the reported party, a chronology of the incident, and other supporting documents. This completeness of information will help ensure that reports are handled more quickly, accurately, and in accordance with procedures. The follow-up process from this reporting mechanism ranges from account blocking to fund recovery for the reporter. The response time depends on how quickly and completely the report is submitted.

Therefore, it is important for the public to remain vigilant and proactive in addressing any issues they encounter. The rise in fraud cases in the financial services sector serves as a reminder to everyone to always safeguard and protect their personal data to the best of their ability.
